Administrator

Rabbi Shmuel Kresch serves as Administrator of Pure Kosher, where he oversees the agency’s standards, operations, and certification practices. He received his rabbinic ordination from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) at Yeshiva University, earning both Yoreh Yoreh and the advanced Yadin Yadin ordination.

Rabbi Kresch developed his expertise in kashrus under the direct guidance of Rav Hershel Schachter — one of the foremost halachic authorities of the generation and the senior posek of OU Kosher. Over more than two years at the Orthodox Union, the world’s largest and most respected kosher certification agency, he gained hands-on command of the complex halachic and practical dimensions of modern kosher supervision.

Rabbi Kresch resides in Southfield, Michigan, with his wife and family.

Rabbinic Coordinator

Rabbi Michoel Plittman received his rabbinic ordination (semichah) from two distinguished halachic authorities of the generation: Rav Moshe Heinemann — rabbinic administrator of the Star-K and a widely consulted posek (decisor of Jewish law) — and Rav Reuven Feinstein, rosh yeshiva of the Yeshiva of Staten Island and son of the revered Rav Moshe Feinstein.

Rabbi Plittman brings hands-on experience in kosher supervision, having directed the entire kashrus operation for a major hotel-based event from the ground up. His responsibilities spanned the full range of practical and halachic demands: hagalas keilim (the purging and kashering of cookware through boiling water), tvilas keilim (the ritual immersion of vessels), and the creation of comprehensive kosher policy for the hotel kitchen. He further managed the shailos — the live questions of Jewish law that arise in real time — along with the distinctive challenges of upholding kosher standards on Shabbos, when the added strictures of the day introduce further layers of halachic complexity.

Rabbinic Coordinator

Rabbi Yisroel Meir Shalom studied at Yeshivas Brisk, where he absorbed the renowned Brisker derech — the rigorous, conceptual method of Talmudic analysis pioneered by Rav Chaim Soloveitchik of Brisk — developing a foundation in the most demanding form of in-depth Torah scholarship. He continued his studies at Beth Medrash Govoha (BMG) in Lakewood, New Jersey — the largest yeshiva in the United States and one of the foremost centers of Torah learning in the world — where he devoted himself to the mastery of practical halacha (Jewish law) and received his semicha (rabbinic ordination).

Rabbi Shalom currently serves as Rosh Kollel in Orlando, Florida — heading the community’s institute for advanced Torah study and serving as its resident halachic authority (posek). With extensive training in practical halacha and a steadfast commitment to the highest standards of kashrus (kosher law), he provides knowledgeable and reliable halachic guidance to individuals and businesses alike. His careful attention to detail, integrity, and dedication to uncompromising kosher standards form the foundation of his approach to kosher certification.
