From step 0 to certified.
No black box. Here is exactly what certification with Pure K looks like — every step, what we need from you, and what we are checking along the way.
You'll always know exactly where you stand
Most agencies treat certification as a mystery. We don’t. Below is the entire Pure K process, start to finish — what happens at each step, what we need from you, and what we’re checking. Read it before you ever pick up the phone.
Six clear steps
The Conversation
A no-pressure intro call. We learn what you make, answer your first questions, and give you a straight read on what certification involves, roughly how long, and roughly what it costs. You leave knowing if it’s a fit.
Apply & Share Ingredients
You complete a short, friendly intake and submit your full ingredient and supplier list using a clear template. Everything is confidential. This is the raw material for the kosher review.
Ingredient & Source Review
Our rabbinic team traces every ingredient back to its source and supplier to verify kosher status. We flag anything that needs a substitution or an extra letter of certification — and explain why.
Facility Inspection
A rabbinic field representative visits your plant, reviewing equipment, cleaning, storage, and the production line. We tell you exactly what we look for in advance, so there are no surprises.
Contract & Certification
Once requirements are met, we issue your certification and letter of authorization. You’re cleared to display the Pure K symbol — with guidance on the correct designation (Pareve, Dairy, etc.).
Ongoing Supervision
Certification is a relationship. Periodic — and sometimes unannounced — visits keep standards airtight, and we’re your on-call resource as you reformulate, add products, or change suppliers.
Every category has its own path
The spine is the same; the specifics change. Each product type has its own ingredients to scrutinize, equipment concerns, and common questions. Here’s what we certify.
Bakery & Grain
Shortenings, emulsifiers, dairy vs. pareve lines, Pas Yisroel.
Beverages
Flavors, grape-derived ingredients, processing aids.
Dairy
Cholov Yisroel options, cultures, rennet, equipment.
Meat & Poultry
Shechita, salting, glatt standards, dedicated lines.
Snacks & Confectionery
Carmine, gelatin alternatives, shared lines, flavor houses.
Supplements
Gelatin capsules, glycerin, fish oils — a health-brand sweet spot.
Ingredients & Flavors
The B2B backbone — letters of certification for downstream makers.
Restaurants & Food Service
On-site mashgiach, prep protocols, menu review, catering.
Produce & Packaged Fresh
Insect-checking, washing protocols, value-add lines.
Transparent on cost and timeline
We give you a clear estimate before you commit — no vague answers, no surprises. Most straightforward products reach certification in a matter of weeks. Complex facilities take longer, and we’ll tell you that honestly, up front.
